Generation Technician (I & E)
Due to an internal promotion, there is an opening for a Generation Technician (I & E), based in Whakatane, reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Coordinator. This role will support the Maintenance and wider Generation teams across the Edgecumbe Cogeneration Plant (EDG), as well as a pipe-line of solar developments.

About the Role
The Generation Technician is responsible for providing technical Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance services to the maintenance team. This includes trouble shooting, preventative and reactive maintenance activities and to repair our generation plant equipment. It is expected that the incumbent will perform all work to the highest quality standards with minimal supervision. This role requires the ability to participate in a rotating call out roster.

About You
  • Minimum of trade or tertiary qualifications in electrical and instrumentation.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience across a broad range of control and instrumentation associated with heavy industry with generation, transmission and distribution systems preferred.
  • Methodical fault-finding skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to mentor and knowledge share with other team members.
  • A valid full NZ driver’s licence
