    Advantage Broadband Plan Special Terms

    The supply of broadband and phone services under this Advantage Broadband Plan (“Plan”) is in accordance with Nova Energy’s General Terms and Conditions for Residential Internet and/or Phone Customers, including Nova’s Fair Use Policy, which are available at www.novaenergy.co.nz (“General Terms”) and the following special terms (“Special Terms”):

    1. This offer is only available to selected new residential broadband customers in our service regions who also sign up for (or who already receive) electricity and/or natural gas services from Nova at the same property. Please visit novaenergy.co.nz for the regions we currently service.
    2. To be eligible for this Plan you must:
      a) not have accepted any other broadband offer from us within the past 12 months; and
      b) if you are a new energy customer, sign up your electricity and/or your natural gas supply with us at the same property on a separate energy plan applicable for your area and metering set-up; or
      c) if you are an existing energy customer, remain on your existing electricity and/or natural gas plan.
    3. The term of this Plan is 12 months (“Term”).
    4. The Plan includes:
      a) unlimited broadband data (subject to our Fair Use Policy), delivered over an ADSL, VDSL or Fibre connection;
      b) the ability for you to purchase our add-on home phone services which you may start at any time, or cancel at any time on 30 days’ notice to us; and
      c) a modem (and twin cordless phone handsets if you purchase home phone services) delivered to you free of charge.
    5. On this Plan, you will also receive a $250 account credit (including GST) on your first broadband invoice. This account credit is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable, and no cash alternative is available.
    6. If you end the Plan for any reason before the end of the Term, an early termination fee of $250 (including GST) may apply.
    7. This Plan cannot be transferred to a different property and will end if you move (in which case the early termination fee may apply if you move during the Term). However, if you move to a new house during the Term and continue to receive broadband with us at your new property, the early termination fee may be waived at our sole discretion. Please note, depending on where you move to, Nova’s broadband services may not be available at your new home.
    8. There is no prompt payment discount available on this Plan. If you do not pay an invoice by the due date, you may be charged a late payment fee (and/or other applicable fees/charges relating to overdue payment or debt collection) in accordance with our Service Fee Schedule published on our website.
    9. Our standard home phone service includes unlimited calls to NZ landlines, subject to our Fair Use Policy. Separate NZ mobile and international landline calling packages can be added at any time at an additional cost. If you purchase our phone service, please note that:
      a) you'll no longer have a fixed landline for your calling. Instead, your calls will be delivered over your internet connection;
      b) if there is a power or internet outage or other internet disabling event (including impeded wireless range within your home, equipment being disconnected from wall sockets etc.) you will be unable to make calls using our phone service, including Emergency 111 calls. We recommend you maintain or have access to a mobile phone service and keep a charged mobile phone at your premises in case you need access to 111 and other emergency call services in cases of service disruption;
      c) if you rely on a medical alarm, life-support or other critical-support or monitored service, and your existing third-party service provider cannot guarantee its compatibility with our internet/phone services, you should not sign up for our services; and
      d) calls to “0900”, “018”, “0161”, “0172” and “059” numbers, switched digital (data) calls, collect calls, audio conferencing, and calling card calls are excluded from all our phone services.
    10. Fibre installation is free for standard residential broadband and phone connections. However, a connection fee may apply to non-standard fibre installations and to any new ADSL or VDSL connections (e.g. if fibre is not available at your home and you do not already have an ADSL or VDSL internet connection). We will let you know if any connection fee or other additional charges apply.
    11. Standard acceptance criteria apply. If there is a conflict between our General Terms and the Special Terms of this Plan set out above, the Special Terms will apply.
    12. This Plan is not available in conjunction with any other broadband offer from us.
    13. We reserve the right to change or withdraw this Plan at any time without notice.

    TV Bundle Plan Special Terms

    The supply of broadband, phone, electricity and/or natural gas services under this TV Bundle Plan (“Plan”) is in accordance with both Nova Energy’s General Terms and Conditions for Residential Energy Customers and Nova Energy’s General Terms and Conditions for Residential Internet and/or Phone Customers, including Nova’s Fair Use Policy, which are both available at www.novaenergy.co.nz (“General Terms”) and the following special terms (“Special Terms”):

    Introduction and Eligibility

    1. This offer is only available to selected new residential broadband and energy customers in our service regions who sign up for broadband and electricity and/or natural gas services from Nova under this Plan, at the same property. Please visit novaenergy.co.nz for the regions we currently service.
    2. To be eligible for this Plan you must:
      a) not have accepted any other broadband offer from us within the past 12 months;
      b) not have switched your energy supply away from Nova within the past 12 months; and
      c) also sign up your electricity and/or natural gas supply with us (under this TV Bundle Plan) at the same property.
    3. On this Plan you will receive either:
      a) a 43” LG Smart TV (model 43UM7340) when you sign up broadband and electricity; or
      b) a 43” LG Smart TV (model 43UM7340) when you sign up broadband and natural gas; or
      c) a 50” LG Smart TV (model 50UM7340) when you sign up broadband and electricity and natural gas). If you are only eligible for a 43” TV, you can choose to upgrade to the 50” TV at the time you sign up for an additional cost of $240 (including GST). This will be charged to your Nova account.

    Broadband Supply Terms

    1. The term for broadband under this Plan is 24 months (“Broadband Term”) and includes:
      a) unlimited broadband data (subject to our Fair Use Policy), delivered over an ADSL, VDSL or Fibre 100 connection;
      b) the ability for you to purchase our add-on home phone services which you may start at any time, or cancel at any time on 30 days’ notice to us; and
      c) a modem (and twin cordless phone handsets if you purchase home phone services) delivered to you free of charge.
    2. If you end this Plan for any reason before the end of your Broadband Term, the following early termination fees may apply:
      a) $600 (including GST) if you selected the 43” LG Smart TV; or
      b) $750 (including GST) if you selected the 50” LG Smart TV.
    3. This Plan cannot be transferred to a different property and will end if you move (in which case the early termination fee may apply if you move during the Broadband Term). However, if you move to a new house during the Term and sign up with us for your broadband supply at your new property, the early termination fee may be waived at our sole discretion. Please note depending on where you move to, Nova’s broadband services and/or pricing may not be available at your new home.

    Energy Supply Terms

    1. On this Plan, your electricity and/or natural gas pricing will stay the same until 31 March 2022 (“Energy Term”), unless we adjust your pricing:
      a) due to changes to taxes (e.g., GST), levies (including the Electricity Authority Levy and/or Gas Industry Company Levy), the NZ Emissions Trading Scheme, or any other governmental or regulatory changes; or
      b) if, for any reason, the information we have relied on to set your pricing is incorrect and/or requires amendment (e.g., if your metering set-up or capacity and/or pricing category is incorrect or changes during the Energy Term).
    2. At the end of the Energy Term, you will be moved to new energy pricing applicable for your area and metering set-up. We will notify you of this new pricing.
    3. If you end the Plan for any reason before the end of the Energy Term (e.g. by switching your electricity and/or natural gas supply to another retailer, or if you move to a different property), an early termination fee may apply in respect of each electricity and natural gas Installation Control Point (“ICP”) switched away. If applied, the early termination fee will be calculated from the date(s) you started the Plan for each respective ICP being switched away, and will comprise:
      a) an Administration Fee of $50 (including GST); and
      b) a Variable Fee of $100 (including GST) which reduces by $10 for every full 30-day period that the ICP has been on the Plan. For the avoidance of doubt, there will be no part reduction for part 30-day periods.
    4. The early termination fee may be waived at our sole discretion:
      a) in circumstances where you switch away from us within 30 days of receiving a notice of:
      i. any changes to the pricing of this Plan in accordance with clause 7(b) above; or
      ii. any material changes to our General Terms and Conditions for Residential Energy Customers; or
      b) if you move properties and sign up with us for your energy supply at your new property.
    5. The supply of electricity and/or natural gas under this Plan is only available in selected Nova supplied regions. It does not apply to or include business or Time-of-Use (TOU) sites, unmetered electricity charges, distributed generation (i.e. solar export) pricing, or our standard fees and charges.

    TV Supply Terms

    1. The TV is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable, and no cash alternative is available.
    2. If the TV model specified in clause 3 above is unavailable, we will endeavour to provide you with an alternative model of equal or greater value. We will let you know if this occurs and give you the option to cancel this agreement without any early termination fee if the alternative model is not acceptable to you.
    3. Your personal information will be held and disclosed by us in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act 1993. To arrange delivery of your TV, we will need to disclose some of your personal information (such as your name and address) to third party suppliers and distribution partners.
    4. The cost of initial TV delivery is included under the Plan. However, if you fail or refuse to take or accept delivery for any reason, additional delivery and/or storage charges may apply. We/our third-party providers will let you know if any additional charges apply.
    5. You agree that:
      a) you are responsible for installing the TV at your property; and
      b) you will bear the risk of any loss, damage or deterioration of or to the TV from date of delivery (but without prejudice to any rights or remedies you might have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 and/or Part 3 of the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017). You should check the delivery packaging for signs of damage before signing for it and also examine the TV for damage before setting it up. If you notice any damage, please contact us immediately.

    Phone Services

    1. Our standard home phone service includes unlimited calls to NZ landlines, subject to our Fair Use Policy. Separate NZ mobile and international landline calling packages can be added at any time at an additional cost. If you purchase our phone service, please note that:
      a) you'll no longer have a fixed landline for your calling. Instead, your calls will be delivered over your internet connection;
      b) if there is a power or internet outage or other internet disabling event (including impeded wireless range within your home, equipment being disconnected from wall sockets etc.) you will be unable to make calls using our phone service, including Emergency 111 calls. We recommend you maintain or have access to a mobile phone service and keep a charged mobile phone at your premises in case you need access to 111 and other emergency call services in cases of service disruption;
      c) if you rely on a medical alarm, life-support or other critical-support or monitored service, and your existing third-party service provider cannot guarantee its compatibility with our internet/phone services, you should not sign up for our services; and

      b) if you are a new energy customer, sign up your electricity and/or your natural gas supply with us at the same property on a separate energy plan applicable for your area and metering set-up; or
      c) if you are an existing energy customer, remain on your existing electricity and/or natural gas plan.
    3. The term of this Plan is 24 months (“Term”).
    4. The Plan includes:
      a) unlimited broadband data (subject to our Fair Use Policy) delivered over a Fibre connection;
      b) the ability for you to purchase our add-on home phone services which you may start at any time, or cancel at any time on 30 days’ notice to us; and
      c) two Plume SuperPods, a modem (and twin cordless phone handsets if you purchase home phone services) delivered to you free of charge.
    5. On the Plan, you will also receive our Plume Service as part of your monthly broadband charge. The Plume Service is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable, and no cash alternative is available.
    6. If you end the Plan for any reason before the end of the Term, an early termination fee of $250 (including GST) may apply.

    The supply of broadband and phone services under this Freedom Broadband Plan (“Plan”) is in accordance with Nova Energy’s General Terms and Conditions for Residential Broadband and/or Phone Customers, including Nova’s Fair Use Policy, which are available at www.novaenergy.co.nz (“General Terms”) and the following special terms (“Special Terms”):

    1. This offer is available to selected new and existing residential broadband customers in our service regions. Please visit novaenergy.co.nz for the regions we currently service.
    2. This is an “open term” Plan which means we will provide broadband and phone services to you on a month to month basis until cancelled by you or us in accordance with the General Terms.
    3. This Plan includes:
      a) unlimited broadband data (subject to our Fair Use Policy) delivered over an ADSL, VDSL or Fibre connection;
      b) the ability for you to purchase our add-on home phone services which you may start at any time, or cancel at any time on 30 days’ notice to us; and
      c) a modem (and twin cordless phone handsets if you purchase home phone services) delivered to you free of charge.
    4. If you end the Plan for any reason within the first six months, you must return the modem (and phone handsets, if applicable) in a good working condition. If you do not return the equipment, a non-return fee of $100 (including GST) for the modem and/or a non-return fee of $50 (including GST) for the phone handsets may apply.
    5. This Plan cannot be transferred to a different property and will end if you move.
    6. There is no prompt payment discount available on this Plan. If you do not pay an invoice by the due date, you may be charged a late payment fee (and/or other applicable fees/charges relating to overdue payment or debt collection) in accordance with our Service Fee Schedule published on our website.

Why would I want Fibre?

If your home has a number of devices like smart phones, tablets, PCs, Smart TVs or gaming consoles, you need the speed and bandwidth of fibre (as copper ADSL and VDSL internet connections can get congested as more devices are added to the same connection, and used at the same time).
Comparatively, with a fibre connection you won’t see a drop in speed or function caused by running several devices at the same time.
