How to set up your fibre Nova modem

Getting your Nova modem connected:

  1. Plug the Ethernet cable into the LAN1 port on the ONT (fibre box in your house) and the other end into the blue WAN port on the modem.
  2. Connect the power supply cable to the modem, plug it in to a power point and turn it on.
  3. Press in the On/Off button on the left side of the modem and wait for the Power, WAN and Internet lights to turn green. You’re good to go!
  4. If you have a device i.e. a computer or Smart TV close enough to connect directly to the modem – plug the yellow cable into the Ethernet port on your device and any Ethernet port on the modem.

Getting your Nova modem connected:

  1. Plug the big end of the black (DSL) cable into a phone wall socket and the small end into the DSL port on the modem.
  2. Connect the power supply cable to the modem, plug it in to a power point and turn it on.
  3. Press in the On/Off button on the left side of the modem and wait for the Power, DSL and Internet lights to turn green. You’re good to go!
  4. If you have a device i.e. a computer or Smart TV close enough to connect directly to the modem – plug the yellow cable into the Ethernet port on your device and any Ethernet port on the modem.

Connecting to WiFi

If you want to use WiFi on your devices (PC, mobile etc) use the settings on your device to find the available WiFi networks. Select the WiFi network you want (the WiFi network names and passwords are on the bottom of the modem) and enter the password.

You can connect to either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz WiFi network –
2.4GHz is best for service throughout your home.
5GHz offers reliable high-speed on devices that are close to the modem.

Setting up your Nova home phone

All the cables you need are provided in the boxes with your Panasonic home phone and your NetComm modem.

  1. Locate the RJ11 telephone cable that connects your home phone to your NetComm modem.
  2. Take the phone cable and connect one end into Telephone Port 1 or 2 on the back of your modem.
  3. Connect the other end of the phone cable to the main phone base unit. Connect the main phone base unit to the power supply using the connection supplied.
  4. Insert two of the AAA batteries that came with the phone into each handset as directed by the label in the battery compartment.
  5. The second phone handset can be installed in another location in your home. The phone needs to be plugged into a power supply using the connection supplied. Note: This handset does not require any other cabling as it uses a wireless phone connection.
